WELDER TEST FACILITY

One of the best kept secrets for welder testing in Northern Illinois is the excellent facility at Pipefitters Local Union 597. This state-of-the-art facility, located in Mokena, IL., offers comprehensive weld testing services for pipeline and gas distribution contractors. Midwestern Contractors and many of our customers have utilized this facility and we can confirm that it is well staffed, fast, and efficient.

 As a certified union testing site, their AWS Certified Welding Inspectors (CWI’s) are there to ensure reliable and consistent testing standards are followed.

Capabilities include:

• Hydrostatic testing of TOR’s
• On-site destructive testing (DT)
• In-service sleeve and side saddle weld tests
• Water cooled weld tests.
• Timely and accurate test result reporting
• Full accountability and transparency throughout the process

If non-destructive testing (NDT) is required the Local 597 Weld Test facility welcomes union companies that provide magnetic particle, dye penetrant, or Radiographic (X-ray) testing.
